KINGSTON — A 47-year-old Frontenac County man suffered a broken hip and internal bruising after his 375 Massey Ferguson tractor rolled down a hill and ran him over.

Gary Barr, 47, was airlifted to Kingston General Hospital on January 3 after a woman driving by called police at about 1 p.m. when she noticed the man lying face down on the ground in a gateway that led to a wooded area.

Barr was conscious when police arrived and said "he was gathering trees for firewood and at one point got off his tractor at the top of a nearby small hill," OPP constable Jim Morris reported. "The tractor then began to roll and his pant leg became caught on a chain attached to the tractor causing him to fall down."

The accident occurred about 30 kilometres north of Kingston, on Burridge Road in South Frontenac Township.
