Blondin dominates Maxville Holstein Show
MAXVILLE — It was all Blondin at the Maxville Holstein Show. Blondin Lyster Beauty, a four-year-old, owned by Americans David and Jeremy Hoese, was named grand champion female.
She was also named Grand Champion of the show in 2007.
A junior three-year-old, Kingston M Goldwyn Petra, from Kingsway Farms, squeezed its way into the winners’ circle.
She won Honourable Mention, but Blay Joy Jasper Mallory, owned by Ferme Blondin, took the number two spot.
Ferme Blondin had an overwhelming presence throughout the show and was named Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor. Kingsway was named Reserve Breeder.
Gerald Coughlin, of Trent Valley Holsteins at Peterborough, judged 131 animals, 50 milking cows and 81 junior animals. He called the show "high quality with very deep classes."
In an especially strong junior show, Ferme Gillette of Embrun, again showed that it was one of the ablest breeders in the country. Gillette Miss Damion was named Junior Champion. She had been shown by Paul Patenaude, of Ferme Gillette, as a 4-H calf last fall at the Metcalfe Fair.
Philmardo Watch Out I’m Here, a daughter of a Gillette bull, was runner up.
Ferme Gillette was named Junior Premier Breeder while Neil and Bryan Anderson had Reserve Champion and Reserve Champion Exhibitor. Dubeau was Premier Exhibitor.
