The Egg Farmers of Ontario have reached a
“resolution” with Spencer-ville farmer Shawn Car-michael, who ran an
illegal egg operation until a judge ordered it shut down last year.

sale
This year will mark the 50th anniversary of the Eastern Ontario
Holstein
clubs’ calf sale.

Douglas bull sale average price is $2,700
The 5th annual bull sale at the
Douglas Bull Test Station saw prices just shy of last year’s
record-high sale. This year, 17 of 24 purebred bulls sold for an
average price of $2,700 each, ranging from $2,100 to $4,050.

Young Casselman Farmer killed
A 19-year-old Casselman dairy
farmer was killed in an early morning accident after a car he was in
with two friends struck a guide rail, rolled over and ended up in the
Nation River on Sunday, April 1. Pascal Larocque, who had hoped to one
day run his grandfather’s dairy farm died along with driver Andre
Seguin, 22. Larocque’s aunt, Joanne Cayer, called her nephew a true
farmer.
