Kemptville College graduates 123 students

KEMPTVILLE — Parents, friends, and family of Kemptville College graduates assembled in the W.B. George Centre Friday, May 23, to celebrate the achievements of their loved ones. In total, 134 students graduated, 23 with agriculture diplomas, and 26 with equine diplomas.

"At this small school, everyone’s friends," valedictorian Matthew Jackson told the audience. He reminisced about Tuesday night pubs, College Royal, and congratulated his fellow graduates on surviving the meal plan. Remembering their arrival at college, right before Sept. 11, he told his fellow graduates " (we) proved we could stand beside each other in times of need."

Some of the students are returning home to work on their family farms, while others are continuing their studies.

"I want to always work in agriculture, with farmers. They are the right kind of people." graduate Harriette Pilon said.
