I will trade you my boat for your cows

NAPANEE — The deal Ron Davis is trying to strike isn’t
the kind you come across in the average sale barn. He’s looking to buy
some beef cows, but instead of using cold hard cash, he’s proposing a
trade: cows for a fishing boat. Davis bought the boat and trailer three years ago and
has been storing it in a barn near Napanee ever since. He estimates it’s
worth about $15,000, and hopes to trade it for 10 or more cows. "In three years, I’ve used it once. I thought,
if somebody wants to sell some cows, why not trade it?"said Davis. Davis runs two companies, Hay-Bay Genetics and Daco
Laboratories Ltd., and lives in Napanee. Aside from having no time to
fish, he says he’s lost the drive. "I’m 77-years-old. When I was young, I used to
like fishing out on the lake, but I just don’t care for it
anymore."
