Teen
dies in tractor collision
PRESCOTT — Seventeen-year-old
Matthew Ashby was killed the morning of August 26 when the tractor he was
driving collided with a an Oldsmobile on a back road intersection, west of
Prescott.
Ashby was crushed by the tractor and
died that evening at Ottawa Civic Hospital, the region’s severe trauma
centre. No charges were laid.
Ashby, of Maynard, comes from a long line of
farmers. His father, John, is secretary of the Brockville Cooperative
Association.
